In this book, Siti brings her sick grandfather to see the doctor. Written like children’s storybooks, this series of books hopes to promote the learning of dialects to Singaporeans of all ages. The vocabulary and sentence structures have been kept simple so that readers can learn their equivalent Hokkien, Teochew, Cantonese, Hainanese, and Hakka versions. It is also an interactive tool to enhance intergenerational bonding through shared reading and storytelling.
